Well last night the Lord decided to give us a very large rain. Zac drove to the shop and checked the rain gage. The gage showed that we had 4 inches of rain there last night. So, the creek gets out its banks last night and runs water up towards the barn. The wind has been howling here like its going to rip the roof off at any moment. The water and wind have some of the electric fences in need of some minor repair, but Zac has been waiting till the water subsides to repair them. He also had to put out hay for the horses today. Gary, my father-in-law, is going to help him. I sorta looked out the window while I was doing dishes, and I noticed that Gary kinda stopped and started and stopped and started again then stopped and kept turning his head to the side. Then he walked on to the truck. My dogs had been out earlier playing in the barn lot; so, I figured he was looking at the remnants of a mangled pig ear treat. Nope!! It was a very much alive snake. I called him thinking, "ha ha he didn't know that was a pig ear. He he." Well the joke was on me. He said, "Nope thats a snake." I said, "You are going to kill it right?" It is about to get cold again, and you and I both know that that dern snake would have found its way into my nice warm garage. I would hate to have to make a new door way into the garage. Seriously, snakes crawling in December. It just snowed here the other day.

Lazy December Days
Well I decided that I might need to try and update my blog a little at a time. Laramy is recoverying from her recent ear infection, and Zac is recoverying from the crud. Everybody is about to finally get well. Maybe. So, needless to say, we have been going with the flow and kinda of sorta keeping it laid back to the max.
I love my family!! Never thought that I would actually enjoy being a stay-at-home wife and mother, but it is a lot cooler than I envisioned. I am blessed to be able to see all the milestones of my baby growing up first-hand. Nobody prepaired me for how exhausting birthing a baby, keeping a house and raising a child can be, but finally, finally I feel as though I have my second wind. Laramy and I decided to get up do breakfast and meds and go back to sleep the past few mornings. Our crashing out sessions have helped my energy levels increase tremendously. I feel relieved. I was beginning to think that something was wrong with me. Anyway, here are some pics.

November Pics
I have taken a lot of pictures this month, but failed to upload them to the blog. I have been kind of busy. Below are a few that made the cut. I have too many cute ones to post. Also, my bunch was sick during Thanksgiving, and we didn't go anywhere. Zac and Laramy have had terrible colds, that have turned into ear infections. We had to take Laramy to the Doctor today. She has another ear infection. Her second one so far in her 5 months of life. I hope this doesn't become a trend, but I know that it could definitely be a lot worse than an ear infection. I have been following little Noah Crowe's progress at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. If you have a child and they are reasonably healthy, you are very blessed. You can be healthy one minute and very sick the next. My thoughts and prayers go out to Noah and his family during this difficult time. Please pray for Noah. http://prayfornoah.weebly.com
She had the donkey in a sleeper hold at one point.

Happy Halloween!! :O)
Our first Halloween went great! A lot better than we anticipated. Honestly, Zac and I had prepared ourselves for the biggest fit of all time, but Laramy surprised us. She was very civil about the whole dress up, trick or treating thing. We made three stops without a peep of discontent(Papa & Nana's, Alma & Maria's, Lelo's). She finally broke bad when we got to my Uncle Don and Aunt Kay's home. She got hungry and sleepy earlier than we planned. So, we left there and went to Pops and Mimi's and gave her a bottle. She perked up and was ready to go again for a little while. As soon as we loaded her up to return home, she was literally snoring before we hit the pavement. Poor thing was so tired that when we got home, she napped for a long time in her car seat. Usually she is ready to get out and get in her swing.
***Please note that I have several good pics at all places; however, I promised some of the individuals in the shots that I would not plaster them up on the web. Ha!! It was extremely difficult to keep that promise. They don't know how close they came to getting exploited in their lounge wear attire. You know who you are. :O) In an effort to be fair, I am not posting them or pics of the people who just didn't care. ***

Sick Baby
Laramy has an ear infection, but you wouldn't know it unless you were around when she eats. She has gotten a lot better since Monday.
Laramy is sitting in her bumbo watching off all things "Barney." I was really hoping this wouldn't start this early. :O(
After Barney, it was swing time. She literally cries to get into her swing. She loves it!!

Rain go away for a while!
I know that I am not the only one wanting the rain to subside for a little bit. It would be great for Zac to be able to get our crops out of the field. The soy beans, corn, and cotton actually look really good this year, but looking good doesn't do your wallet any favors! Maybe the lord will let it dry up long enough for us to harvest. It would be great to be able to get Laramy out and go for a walk. She needs a change of scenery. She likes to be outdoors, like her mom. We probably need the rain considering how dry its been the last few years. I feel for these people who built homes in lower lying areas when it was dry. The water table is up; so, they will probably feel the effects of that. Water everywhere! On the bright side of things, at least I don't have to get my baby out in this mess to take her to daycare. Its great being able to stay at home with her myself. :O)

Bittersweet Sunday
Yesterday, Zac and I went to Birmingham to see Heather, Gary, Piper, Rosemary, and Henry. We had a wonderful time!! Wish we had brought Laramy, but she is doing some kind of pre-teething. Her fuse is very short!! Thank the Lord for those teething tablets, and Heather for picking them up for us. Heather and I went through some of Piper and Rosemary's wardrobe picking out the things that they had outgrown. Heather sent home so many cute clothes, and honestly I don't know if Laramy will be able to wear it all. But she insisted that we try, and we are very grateful that she let us use them. :O) However, there was a moment during all of this that she realized that her babies are growing up. Bless her heart! I understand even more that motherhood is profoundly bittersweet. While we all want our children to grow up to become self-sufficient productive individuals, we don't want them to grow up so quickly. It would be great just to freeze time and enjoy them being little for a while longer. Today as I go through Laramy's closet and retire certain articles of clothing that she has "outgrown," I am reminded that I need to breath in all of her littleness. Soon enough, she will not need me to hold her tiny little hand and rock her to sleep.

Set them free!
About a week ago we acquired a rooster from our friend. We were not planning on getting into the chicken business, but we did. We named the rooster, "Alfonzo." So, since you can have just one lonesome rooster, we decided to get Alfonzo some ladies. Well we got Camilla a game hen and turned her in with Alfonzo. Camilla decided to roost up in the hay loaft and would not come down; so, we had to get her down. Willie, our dog, was very eager to help. I climbed up into the barn loft and Zac set Willie up there with me. The plan was to let Willie help chase her down out of the loft and then we would cover up the access holes. That idea was quickly laid to rest when finally Zac had to climb up there with us and catch her. She wouldn't come down off the roost for me. Later in the week, Zac brought home three bared rock hens. We have been keeping them up in the barn/make shift chicken coup to get them used to us. Today we set them free!! We now have free range chickens. Does this mean we have "organic chickens?" LOL. Below are Alfonzo.

Zac's Birthday
Today was Zac's Birthday, and we celebrated at his parents house. Cousin Sydney was there entertaining Laramy.
Sydney was very excited to get into the birthday cookie. LOL. She said Happy Birthday to Uncle Zac and was off to the kitchen to get into that cookie.
Nana and Sydney are playing with Laramy and really have her tickled. :O)
We finally had time for a pic of all three of us together. Hard to tell, but Laramy is actually having a complete meltdown and paused for just enough time to take the pic.
